I. Algerian Client Background
Algeria is the largest country in Africa. In recent years, the Algerian government has continuously promoted infrastructure construction, leading to a growing demand for construction machinery. As important partners in the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation between China and Algeria is deepening in multiple fields.
SONATRAC is an energy exploration and infrastructure construction company located in Algeria. As Africa’s largest oil company, it enjoys a high reputation in both the local and international energy markets.
II. Hydraulic Road Roller Cooperation Overview
Due to its business covering multiple fields such as oil and gas development and oil and gas field surface engineering, the company needs to handle large-scale energy infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, requiring high standards for the vibration adjustment flexibility, hydraulic system reliability, and maneuverability in confined spaces of its road roller products.
SONATRAC attached great importance to this project, sending representatives to China to conduct a product selection and evaluation of Chinese road rollers. After visiting renowned China road roller manufacturer such as XCMG, Liugong, and WALMECH, and through comparison of equipment specifications and on-site application verification in oil and gas fields, one hundred WALMECH brand fully hydraulic single-drum vibratory rollers and pneumatic tire rollers were ultimately selected and successfully exported to and applied in the SONATRACH oil and gas field surface construction project in Algeria.
III. Customer Feedback
WALMECH Heavy Machinery After use, the customer reported that the products have high compaction efficiency, strong stability, simple operation, and high safety and reliability, significantly improving project progress and reducing maintenance costs. They also highly recognized WALMECH’s fully hydraulic vibratory rollers and after-sales service capabilities.
An Algerian user commented: “WALMECH’s fully hydraulic road roller have excellent compaction effects, reliable quality, and significantly reduced worker workload due to their ease of operation. They have performed exceptionally well in our oil and gas project.” This cooperation further deepens the partnership between China and Algeria in the energy sector, and WALMECH looks forward to gaining more development opportunities in Algeria’s ongoing infrastructure construction.
